Agatha Ruiz de la Prada presents her book 'My story' within the framework of the Gran Canaria Swim Week by Moda Cálida

The designer Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada will be like every year on the Gran Canaria swimwear catwalk and on this occasion, in addition to her collection, she will present her book “My story”. It is the narration of the most intimate and provocative memories published by the publishing house La Esfera de los Libros and which is now in its fourth edition.
The work has been prepared with the collaboration of the journalist Pedro Narváez, who has been a fashion correspondent and one of the curators of the exhibition "Behind the Mirror" at the Reina Sofía Museum; Currently he serves as deputy director of the Culture area and the People section of La Razón. In La Esfera she collaborated with great success on the memoirs of Jesús Mariñas.

Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada is one of the most international Spanish creators. She began designing in the early eighties, in the midst of the Movida explosion, with a groundbreaking and very personal style that is the result of fusing fashion with contemporary art, and became a sociological phenomenon. She has paraded in almost all the capitals of the world, has had points of sale in one hundred and twenty countries and has had five hundred licenses for her products, from sheets to tableware.

This businesswoman and designer studied at the Barcelona School of Fashion Arts and Techniques. At the age of 20 she began working as an assistant in the Madrid studio of couturier Pepe Rubio. A year later she already presents her first collection at the LOCAL design center in Madrid. Since then, Ágatha has walked in the fashion capitals, Paris, Milan, New York, Florence, Madrid, and has been a guest of honor and representative of Spanish fashion on the main catwalks in the world.

Her creations have become a true means of artistic expression and from her first years in the world of fashion she began to exhibit some masterpieces in galleries and museums in different cities in Europe, America and Asia.

His contribution to the image of Spanish fashion has been recognized with the National Awards for Fashion Design and Fashion Industry, awarded in 2017 and 2018 respectively, which are added to the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts awarded in 2008.
